Abstract: The “14th Five-Year Plan” period is a crucial stage for China, the transition of the Chinese economy from a phase of rapid growth to a stage of high-quality development, during which China’s demographic issues are the main influencing factor in determining development. Based on the development trend of China’s population, the coordination of population and economy, and the relationship between population and ecological environment, the paper presents an in-depth analysis of the important demographic issues in China’s population development during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. We propose eight corresponding recommendations to deal with the demographic issues, aiming to alleviate the unbalanced and insufficient problems in population development, promote the healthy and sustainnnable development of the population, and create a good demographic foundation for high-quality development during the “14th Five Year Plan” period.
