As a comprehensive academic journal incepted in 1955, Journal of Sichuan University (Philosophy and Social Science Edition) is under the administration by the People's Republic of China Ministry of Education, and organized by Sichuan University. As a bimonthly periodical at present, as of the end of 2013, the Journal has been totally published by 189 issues. For nearly 60 years, the Journal has always insisted on the publication approach that integrates both academic quality and social care. With the expectation of rigorous and simple magazine style as well as the mission to promote international academic exchanges, the Journal enjoys high reputation in the academic circles: one of the CSSCI source journals, the National Chinese core journals and China’s Humanities and Social Sciences core journals, one double-effect journal of China Periodicals Phalanx, the national Social Science Fund journal, and on selected periodical under the quality journal engineering by the Ministry of Education.
As an academic periodical relying on Sichuan University, based on the domestic academy as well as internationally oriented, the Journal intends not only to reflect the academic style of Sichuan University and China's academic innovation, but also to track the international academic frontier, aiming to provide humanities and social science scholars worldwide with a platform to spread, share and exchange views on academic issues. As a comprehensive academic journal across humanities and social sciences, the Journal publishes excellent academic papers covering literature, history, philosophy, politics, economics, law and other disciplines. In the field of humanities, we focus on new ideas, new materials and new methods, while in the social science sector; we attach importance to exploration of theory, empirical investigation and social concern. The Journal adopts strictly the two-way anonymous review system, and all articles for publication shall be subject to expert evaluation. Scholars both at home and abroad are warmly invited to make contributions. The Journal never charges any publishing fee while such papers for use by this publication are paid with corresponding remuneration, of which the high level ones will receive generous compensation.
