www.cssn.cnOn December 13th, the 11th China Ethics Conference and the 1st China Publishing Ethics Conference were held in Nanjing. This conference, themed “Ethics and the Development of the Publishing Industry”, was jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Ethics, Nanjing University, and Tsinghua Tongfang. Over a thousand scholars from the field of ethics, the publishing industry, and related areas across the country gathered in Nanjing to jointly explore the ethical challenges and response paths in the development of ethics theory and publishing practice.
The conference set up 16 parallel forums and 2 online forums, covering multiple fields such as publishing ethics, basic theories of ethics, science and technology ethics, economic ethics, legal ethics, artificial intelligence ethics, digital art ethics, agricultural ecological ethics, and military strengthening and war ethics. Scholars and practitioners from universities, research institutions, and publishing units across the country engaged in in-depth exchanges. In the “Dialogue on Hot Issues in Ethics” section, over three hundred scholars engaged in cross-disciplinary and cross-field dialogues and exchanges on the cutting-edge issues in the development of contemporary ethics, presenting a splendid intellectual feast.
During the conference, the 11th National Member Representative Conference of the Chinese Ethics Society was also held, completing the society's leadership transition. The branches under the society, such as the Science and Technology Ethics Special Committee, Economic Ethics Special Committee, Legal Ethics Special Committee, and Youth Work Committee, also completed the voting and election of their new leadership teams.
The conference lasted for two days, with a rich variety of activities and diverse viewpoints. Participants all expressed that the holding of this conference not only deepened the integration of theoretical research on ethics and the construction of publishing ethics in our country, but also provided an important ideological platform and action guidance for promoting the high-quality development of the publishing industry and creating a favorable scientific research ecosystem.
