On 21 September 2023, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) held the 9th China and Globalization Forum in Beijing. Senior policy makers, diplomats in China, representatives of international organizations, experts, scholars and industry leaders attended the forum to have an in-depth discussion on the relationship between major countries, climate governance, economic development and corporate cooperation. The report "CCG Report on the BRI 10th Anniversary－Achievements and Multilateral Prospects" was released at the forum.
It has been 10 years since the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) was put forward, and 10 years of development and prosperity have passed. Over the past 10 years, the construction of the BRI has evolved from a Chinese initiative to international practice, and international cooperation projects have yielded fruitful results in a wide range of areas, including infrastructure construction, ecological and environmental governance, and exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Under the influence of the "profound changes unseen in a century", the new phase of the BRI faces both challenges and new development opportunities.
Based on its long-term accumulation of research on globalization, CCG puts forward a ten-point initiative on the multilateralization of the Belt and Road, in order to deepen multilateral cooperation on the basis of existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, achieve closer and more efficient interface with many existing international cooperation mechanisms, enhance the attributes of the Belt and Road as an international public good, and create an efficient Belt and Road multilateral cooperation mechanism, so as to better respond to the current general trend of globalization development.
