On January 20, the launch event of the "Series of Blue Books on Sichuan's Provincial Conditions (2026)" was held at the Baihuatan Campus of the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences. Liu Liyun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CPC, and Liang Yanling, Deputy Director of Social Sciences Academic Press, attended the event and delivered speeches. Yang Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy, attended the meeting and provided an overview of the compilation of the series of Blue Books. Liao Zujun, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, presided over the meeting.
Liu Liyun emphasized that with the simultaneous implementation of multiple national strategies in Sichuan, systematically conducting research on provincial conditions and scientifically analyzing development trends hold significant practical importance. The Series of Blue Books on Sichuan's Provincial Conditions, closely aligned with the decisions and deployments of the Central Committee and the priorities of the provincial Party committee and government, have become important think tank achievements serving the governance and development of Sichuan. Moving forward, the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences will continue to strengthen its research foundation, enhance the quality and effectiveness of its studies, and better leverage the foundational and guiding role of the Blue Books in supporting decision-making.
Liang Yanling noted that the Series of Blue Books on Sichuan's Provincial Conditions are characterized by their focused themes, solid research, and comprehensive framework, making them highly representative in the development of local think tank Blue Books. The Press will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences in areas such as topic planning, academic standards, and dissemination of research outcomes, providing support to actively promote the high-quality development of the Blue Books.
Yang Ying stated that the Series of Blue Books on Sichuan's Provincial Conditions are consistently supported by data and facts, with a focus on trend analysis and policy recommendations. They have developed a panoramic research system covering "economic development, social governance, rural agriculture, cultural development, ecological construction, Chengdu-Chongqing development, and strategic hinterland," achieving comprehensive coverage of key areas in Sichuan's development and in-depth focus on major issues.
At the event, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Social Sciences Academic Press and the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences.
Since its inception in 2006, the Series of Blue Books on Sichuan's Provincial Conditions have evolved from initially scattered publications into a systematic and continuous annual research output. In recent years, the series has provided systematic decision-making references for Sichuan's high-quality development and its role in serving the national agenda. The Blue Book on Sichuan's Agricultural and Rural Development centers on rural revitalization and the construction of the "Tianfu Granary," systematically researching issues such as food security, rural industries, rural construction, and farmers' income growth. The Blue Book on Sichuan's Cultural Development emphasizes the inheritance and innovation of Ba-Shu culture and the integration of culture and tourism, exploring pathways for building a culturally strong province. The Blue Book on Sichuan's Ecological Civilization Construction is grounded in the "dual-carbon" goals and the Yangtze River Economic Belt strategy, summarizing experiences in green transformation and ecological governance. The Blue Book on the Development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle focuses on "dual-core synergy and regional coordination," analyzing the phased achievements and key directions of regional collaborative development. The Blue Book on Sichuan's Construction of a National Strategic Hinterland approaches from the perspectives of national security and an open development pattern, researching pathways for Sichuan to enhance its strategic support capacity and radiating influence.
More than 80 experts and scholars from Social Sciences Academic Press and the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences attended the event.
